Boombotix + RZA = The Sound of the Brave
When legendary Wu-Tang founder RZA joined Boombotix, a wireless speaker startup, we jumped at the chance to promote the significance and excitement of this intersection between creativity and technology.
The way of the Wu
By reading RZA’s book, The Tao of Wu, we gained insight into his philosophy of life, music, and business. It allowed us to build an instant rapport with the hip hop icon so we could collaborate with mutual trust and respect.
Rolling with the rhyme warriors
Our team interviewed RZA and followed the Wu-Tang Clan on tour to film and photograph moments on and off stage. With the footage we collected, we then wrote, directed, and produced the RZA / Boombotix collaboration announcement video for release online.
Bringing RZA's courageous vision to the brand
With RZA front and center, we applied these video and photographic assets to the design of a packaging system, interactive point of sale fixtures, email marketing, social media, and the Boombotix website. RZA’s idea of embedding exclusive music into a wireless speaker caused a huge stir in the music industry, and our campaign helped fuel the buzz.
The split peronality of hybrid audio
We developed the "Master Your Sound" campaign to promote the new line of high-end headphones that had the ability to blend surrounding ambient sound when you wanted it or block out all environmental sounds for pure phonic listening. Our campaign dramatized this polarity with contrasting RZA personalities: the Zen Master and the warrior.
